Zones unofficial FAQ & other updates  0

Posted on January 23rd, 2006. About Admin, Zones.

Would be happy to host some extra-content about Solaris 10 and JES. Feel free to send ideas / questions to the Zones FAQ / extra labs / extra links / experiences / … by mail to nieuwenj(at)learningsolaris.com or via the contact page. Thanks to those who did it already.

January 06 :

  • Updated the Zones unofficial FAQ to 0.5. Now includes the first answer provided by Sun (about patch management and S10U1). The document now comprises 57 questions and has been seen more or less 7000 times.
  • Created the first version of a lab dedicated to Zones.

December 05 :

  • Updated the Zones unofficial FAQ to 0.4. Now includes Resource Management questions plus half dozen new other questions. Finally decided to continue the FAQ because people seem to like an independent FAQ.
  • Added new categories for the Java Enterprise System products I have been using/teaching lately. Content should start to get in as I update my notes.
  • Looking for a new look & feel, especially for Internet Explorer Users. They should not be alarmed by an ugly-looking Solaris site…
  • Added Google AdSense to the site. Hopefully not too annoying… Ads should have something to do with Solaris, have a look now and then.

There it is, I have got a new version of the website, using a Content Management System called Wordpress.
It is organized around a “blog” system, which makes categorizing messages easy, you can see the result on the sidebar on the right of this page.

For the time being, what can you do ?

  • Consult my repository of S10-related files ( 23 already ), by clicking on the s10 docs button in the navigation bar
  • Have a look at my draft bookmark of S10-related links –> s10 bookmark button
  • Play around with some labs to learn more about some S10 features –> s10 labs button
  • Go find out about the SMF workshop –> s10 workshops button
  • Subscribe to the newsletter

And then of course, you will have to come back from time to time to read all the nice stories that I have about the great Solaris 10.

Posted on March 3rd, 2005. About Workshops, Admin.

This website has got nothing to do with Sun Microsystems Inc. or Accenture BPM. I am maintaining it in my spare time to put together the info that I know about Solaris 10. All documents that you will find here are provided ‘as is’ and the procedures described in it should never been attempted on any production system.
